I am interested in writing web novels, and I bought his thinking that there would be some overlap, and I wasn't disappointed. This primer covers everything you would think you needed to know about writing webcomics and some that you didn't—I never noticed the 'I' Thing. This was also an enjoyable read, and never felt tedious, as many instructional books can, with many illustrations to illustrate the point. Also, if you are the kind of person who appreciates quality construction in books, this will not disappoint with quality glossy paper and solid binding. Overall, a quality product.

This book is fairly short, fairly simplified, but overall fairly fair! You're paying for what you get, which is guidance and advice on developing, writing, laying out, wording, and promoting a webcomic. It doesn't go in depth on artistic concepts, theory about sequential art, or anything like that. It's entirely about Webcomics, their creation, how they should be structured and laid out, all that sort of thing. It's very specific in its aim, and its aim is a good one! It's a good starting point, and offers a variety of reading suggestions too. If you're really going to be serious about getting into webcomics or comic art in general, I recommend you purchase Making Comics while you wait for your copy of How to Webcomic.
